Fleming Associates consists of one family dedicated to protecting yours. James L. Fleming began the business in 1962 and was joined first by his son James P. and then his son Tom. Nearly all of Fleming Associates clients come through word of mouth - the most rewarding recommendation of all.

Jim has been in the insurance industry since 1957. In 1962 Jim and his wife Joan founded Fleming Associates. Both Jim and Joan are still very active in the practice.

Jim graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of the Pacific. He has qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table for over 35 years and has been a member of the prestigious ‘Court of the Table’. Jim offers all types of insurance planning for his clients including health, disability, pensions, life and estate tax programs. Thorough and innovative, he meets the needs of successful professionals and business owners. He holds the designation of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), testimony to his in-depth knowledge and background in the insurance and retirement planning fields. Involved in the professional community, Jim is past president of the Mt. Diablo Life Underwriter’s Association.

Jim received his insurance license at the age of 18. He worked part-time in the business until he graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo in 1982 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He decided to continue his education by spending three years in public accounting with Deloitte Haskins & Sells (currently Deloitte & Touche) earning his designation of Certified Public Accountant. He then came back to the insurance business full time and added his Chartered Life Underwriter designation.

As President of Fleming Associates Insurance Agency, Jim concentrates on Pension Owned Life Insurance, Disability Income, Critical Illness and Health Insurance for successful professionals and closely held business owners. He is a qualifying and life member of the Million Dollar Round Table with multiple Court of the Table qualifications. Jim, his wife and their two girls live in Lafayette, California.

Like his older brother, Tom also received his Life Agent's license at the age of 18. Tom attended Cal State Northridge and San Jose State University and worked with his father at Fleming Associates on and off until 1982, at which time he moved back east to finish his education at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Tom worked in the entertainment industry on both coasts until the mid 90's. In 1995, he took a position with Fleming Associates specializing in health insurance sales and service. With continuing insurance education and through the guidance of Fleming Associates, he became well versed in personal and overhead expense disability income, life, critical illness and long-term care insurance sales and service. Tom first qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table in 1997 and has continued to qualify each and every year. He has been a guest speaker at National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) meetings throughout the country.

As Vice-President of Fleming Associates, Tom Fleming has provided peace of mind for thousands of clients by insuring their income and lives while delivering a comprehensive level of service. He is married with two children, lives in Concord, California and remains active as a children's soccer coach and musical performer.
